Tae Kwon Do Club

The tae kwon do club is for the members of MSUM TKD and gives them a chance to get together outside of the gym. We do all sorts of different club activities. There are a few get togethers every year and we have many events throughout the year.

Meetings are usually held in between the TKD I and II classes on either Mondays or Wednesdays. We are all students just like you and we realize schedules need to be flexible. We do our best to make sure everyone that wants to participate in the club can.

There are club dues that are $15 a year; these fees are used to offset the costs of things like boards, bricks, and other material for demos as well as supplying food and beverages at our get togethers.

We usually try to do at least one demo a semester. Usually at an event like DragonFest, Homecoming, DragonFrost or the Health Fair. The club, led by Master Dan, has also given self defense demonstrations to other clubs and organizations around the campus. The demos are always fun to watch and usually include the full range of the art of Tae Kwon Do. There are traditional forms, demonstrations of kicking and punching combinations, self defense, and even some board and brick breaking.

If you'd like the club to perform a demo at your event feel free to contact tkd@mnstate.edu. We do ask that you give us some advance notice. At least a couple weeks to make sure everybody's schedule is clear. Remember, the more notice you can give, the better!
